Full scale development of websites can be a daunting task; especially when you need a site that can can you considerable returns with no time to spare from your side. Outsourcing the development is non-factor; everyone does not have the necessary capital to hire a website designer and developer. What can you do in this situation?
When building a website, its important to have regular, unique content, no matter how long or how little time you spend on it. In order to compete with other websites, and little time to spare on SEO and traffic building, you will be glad if you had chosen a domain name that properly reflected the theme of the website.
Great vs Average Domain Names

Choosing a good, reflective name for websites becomes a major factor when time is an issue. It will take the same amount of time to develop a website if it has a very good, key-word rich domain and a average, not so great domain. On the same note, it will also cost the same amount of money. Therefore, if you prefer to choose a great domain, it will assist in generating type-in traffic, and also improve your SEO with search engines. Great domain names can bring you traffic with little time on your hand building it.
If time is a factor in website development, then developing a great domain name is the way to go.

Agreed but adding all that content that is necessary for good SEO even when outsourced can be a major pain. You must have some SEO talent to make it worth your time that is for sure.

Personally, I’m not very good at SEO, but I find that as long as you add unique, quality content, the SEO will come naturally. Obviously having good SEO skills will hurry the process up, but I personally don’t worry *too* much about it.

It’s quite amazing how those four letter or five letter single word domain names – or in worst case two word names – are making way for the longer but keyword phrase names.
These days, not many really access websites by typing the domain name into the browser but people use bookmarks or depends big time on SEs.
I am just wondering if domain name itself will become insignificant totally in a few years!!! What if there’re mechanisms to access a website without DNS like set up

A great test for domain name is to tell it to cuople of your friends and then ask them to remember it a week later. If it’s a good name they’ll remember it.
