Welcome, 2009

2009 is upon us, at least here in Fiji Islands, (GMT +12) at the time of writing this post. Being only in existence for the last 3 months, Domain Marvelous did not have a chance to put up a show last year. This year, however, will hold much importance in the progress of this blog and shape the direction it is headed into.

    Some Milestones in 2008

As mentioned earlier, Domain Marvelous came into existence in the last quarter of 2008. Three months is a very short time for any website to really take off and become affluent in the online community. This blog, however, has managed to break some barriers and gain a wee bit reputation in the blogging community. Some examples being:

    • Achieving a Google Toolbar Pagerank of 3 for the Home Page (Thanks for the back link, everyone :) )
    • Reaching the 500,000 mark in Alexa Rankings
    • Attracting visits and comments from high profile bloggers, such as Ajith Edassery, Farrhad, Sire, Shirley and Ikki, to name a few…

    Looking forward to 2009

New year, new resolutions. It has become a norm for humanity to embrace the new cycle of 365 days with some goals and aspirations. Love it or hate it… making resolutions certainly helps in strengthening your will power and giving you a moral boost. Having a set of goals is better than having none at all. Domain Marvelous is no exception. I am looking forward to putting this blog on the summit of the domaining arena by the end of this year. Some of my specific goals to achieve by 31st December, 2009 are:

    • Alexa Toolbar Rank: 60,000
    • Google Toolbar PageRank: 5
    • Traffic Per day: 2000
    • Unique Traffic Per day: 200
    • Search Rank for my major keyword (or keyphrase): 1st page Rank

    2009 Motto for Domain Marvelous

Nothing fancy; this blog will be run with one simple fact in mind…There is no substitute for hard work and ambitious goals. The results would certainly be visible on 31st December, 2009.

    Some Changes

With the recent update in Google PR and increase in traffic, Domain Marvelous is turning out to be potential source of traffic and exposure for your online presence. I will, therefore, be giving away advertising space on this blog.

Moreover, I believe in supplying my readers with well tuned, informative posts. I admit that the quality of articles till now has not been that great and most of the information found here are generally well explained elsewhere in the cyberspace. This is set to change with me prioritizing the release of unique and informative articles at a regular basis.

    In Conclusion

Just 4 months ago, the thought of becoming a blogger had never crossed my mind. Domain Marvelous was something that came about when I saw a lack of informative and quality sources for new domaineers. While there is no shortage of well learned and successful domaineers, the knowledge they usually impart is understandable only by a doctorate or PhD holder. I designed this blog aimed for beginners in this industry. 2009 will see it evolve to also cater for experienced domaineers and webmasters. With your comments and suggestions, my goal of becoming a high profile and recognizable blogger is more than achievable. Thank you for your company in 2008 and I look forward to maintaining our friendship; not only in 2009, but for years to come. :)

    Forsaken,
2009 seems to be a well-planned year for you… I am yet to write my goals. Should do it sometime this week.

By the way, 2000/200 seems like an unlikely propotion… ie. Getting 10 page views on an average out of a visitor.

    Good luck!

Well done on the PR3. Personally I’m not one for setting goals, I just do what I think needs to be done and hope for the best. I haven’t too bad either. Wassupblog now has a PR3 and Alexa 177906 and my first post was August 9th 08, all in all I am pretty happy with the results.
